FAMILY-WEEKEND COOKING FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK

So many families struggle with time and time-management at home and at work. Helping people organizing, decorating and simplifying life is one of my passions.

The stress during the working-week with doing so many things for the family including shopping and cooking healthy food can be overwhelming.

1.) Make a fun family-evening or weekend to chose some healthy menu-recipes from cook-books and cooking-magazines and include your children in choosing.

2.) Look for balanced meals. Prepare ahead and cook. I recommend to look for 3 categories: for example: Meals with Pasta, Rice and Potatoes. Cook the portions you need for the weekly menus all at once.

3.) The same for veggies: for example: peas & carrots, broccoli/cauliflower, tomatoes

4.) The same for the meats: Chicken, beef, fish

5.) Wash the salads, prepare  and put in fridge, but no more than 1-3 days

5.) Make a copy  from the 7 menu-recipes for the week

6.) Copy or write the separate ingredients-shopping-lists for the recipe.

4.) File  them together to use another time. With a copy you save time in looking for recipes and writing the shopping list several times!

Use a weekend to cook the meals ahead for the week and make single portions for the evening or per person and freeze. If you write the days on the containers and stack them accordingly you have always the right day on hand when you come  home from work/school. Remember: 3 veggies (can be salads), 2 fruits a day to incorporate to your meals.

The benefits: 1.) No stress to find out what to eat each evening. 2.) No running after work in the store. 3.) Knowing  that your family eats a balanced meal a day.  4.) More time spending together as a family at the dinner table.

MAKE TIME IN LIFE!

Posted by Caroline

FIND TIME IN LIFE FOR QUIET MOMENTS

BECAUSE THEY WILL BALANCE OUT TIMES OF TURMOIL…

DIFFICULT TIMES WILL NOT LAST FOREVER.

MAKE TIME IN LIFE FOR LOVE AND SHARING,

TO LET OTHERS KNOW THAT YOU CARE….

ENJOY TODAY BY BEING HERE AND NOW.

ALWAYS KEEP TIME FOR YOURSELF, AND NEVER

LOSE SIGHT OF YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS.

YOUR LIFE IS UP TO YOU, SO TAKE TIME TO BELIEVE

KNOWING THAT EVEN ON CLOUDY NIGHTS, THE

STARS ARE SHINING.

From the book: Is It Time To Make A Change?   By Deanna Beisser

TWO MODES OF THOUGHT!

We have 2 major categories of thoughts, which help us in different situations on a daily bases…..

1.) The Processing/Analytical Mode

-It stores information (memory)

-It analyzes this data (sorts it, compares  it, organize it into beliefs, concepts and processes info like a computer)

2.) The Free-Flowing Mode

– it is stress free

– it is dealing with the unknown, where creative thoughts are needed

– it is natural and allows us to be at peak performance and enjoyment

In our fast-paced world, most of us have learned to live almost exclusively in the process-oriented mode. This mode can cause stress, worry, anxiety, depression and a sense of hurry, which are negative emotions and can lead to mental illness and addictions.

Do this for your mental health: Schedule in your calendar (at least 20-30 min. a day) some “quality down-time” with walks, meditations, prayers and quiet time each day, it will help you to slow down your processing thinking and will shift your thoughts in a free-flowing mode for a while, which is natural and allows you to be at peak performances without getting too tired and stressed.  (by Caroline)

I DID IT!

by Caroline

If you’re feeling stressed because you never seem to get to your “to do” list, make a “I did it” list for a few days. Write down what you accomplish each day. Write the time spent to it. Including everything that seems too insignificant to mention, bring the children to school, grocery shopping, preparing a healthy meal, reading to a child, listening to a friend.

TIPS FOR PHONE CALLS, TEXT OR E-MAILS

By Caroline

Today almost everybody has an I-phone and computer we are spending hours on it each day. It is a combination between calls, text, social media and e-mails. It is difficult to keep control on how many hours a day we spend time on it. Some little planning helps to keep things in check and under control.

Tips for private and business communications to be effective and time sensitive:

1:  Set a time or periods of time to make calls, text or e-mails

2: Make a list and prioritize them by importance

3: Set a time for each call, text or e-mail

4: Write some short notes to each call, text or e-mail,what you want to achieve
