Keeping Food Safe For The Holiday’s

The holidays are right around the corner and with that come all of the good food and indulgences of the holidays. It is important to remember some safety tips when so many things will be going on in the kitchen.

One of the best ways to stay safe is wash your hands and surfaces in the kitchen frequently. Secondly, don’t cross contaminate, cross-contamination is when bacteria cross from one food to another through contact with the same surface. Thirdly, cook foods to the proper temperatures and refrigerate foods promptly.

When your inviting family and friends over to your home for a holiday meal ask to see if anyone has food allergies or sensitivities and prepare a food item accordingly. The person may offer to bring a dish that they can prepare and share with others.

The holidays are a time for sharing good food, being grateful for our abundance and enjoy time with our family and friends.
